Most leaders are under constant pressure. You’re juggling expectations, making decisions with incomplete information, managing relationships that are challenging, and trying to perform at a high level, often while feeling stretched thin. Over time, this pressure shows up as stress, frustration, conflict, or burnout.
The problem isn’t a lack of capability or intelligence. It’s that most of us were never taught how to manage ourselves in the middle of pressure. When stress rises, our nervous system takes over. We react instead of choosing. We communicate poorly. We lose clarity. And the harder we try to control the situation around us, the more exhausted we become.
The Basics of Self-Mastery is designed to change that. This program teaches you practical tools to understand what’s happening internally—your stress responses, emotional patterns, and habitual reactions—so they don’t run you. As you develop the ability to regulate your inner state, you’ll experience less stress, clearer thinking, and more grounded confidence in your decisions.
Because leadership is largely relational, this inner work also transforms how you show up with others. Participants who put these practices into action consistently report better communication, fewer reactive conflicts, and deeper trust with colleagues, teams, and clients. And as work becomes more complex and uncertain, self-mastery provides the stability and clarity you need to navigate challenges and think strategically.
This program draws from Western psychology, Eastern spiritual practices, and the book The Practice of Self-Management by Christopher Forman and Bryan Ungard, offering concrete skills you can apply immediately at work and in daily life.

The Program
- 12-session program over 12 weeks
- Start Date: March 5th, 2026
- Time: Thursdays at 8:00am - 9:00am Pacific
- End Date: May 28th, 2026
- Live meetings over video
- The program is interactive and includes discussion, small group interaction, exercises and guided meditations
- In addition to live calls, you will be given practices and assignments to complete between meetings
- The program is facilitated by our Kollner Group leadership team.
